As sardinhas ao sábado

🇵🇹 Sardinhada de Sábado, quando o fumo, o cheiro e a boa disposição tomam conta de tudo

Não há concentração sem ela. Ao meio-dia de sábado, a brasa acende, o fumo espalha-se pelo recinto e o cheiro a sardinha assada faz o resto, ninguém fica parado.

Por detrás disto tudo está uma equipa de sócios, membros e voluntários que abdicam do seu descanso para pôr isto de pé. Não há obrigação, há vontade. É essa diferença que se sente no prato e no ambiente.

À volta das brasas, como sempre, nunca falta a animação, os improvisos, as piadas, os comentários do público, os "especialistas" que aparecem a dar bitaites sem terem pedido licença. Quem já esteve sabe do que estamos a falar. 😄

É feio, é fumarento, é quente, é caótico e é exactamente por isso que é tão bom.

Obrigado a todos os que, mais uma vez, arregaçam as mangas para que esta tradição se mantivesse viva. Sabem quem são.

🇬🇧 Saturday Sardine Feast, when the smoke, the aroma, and the good vibes take over

There's no concentration without it. At noon on Saturday, the embers light, the smoke spreads throughout the area, and the smell of grilled sardines does the rest, nobody stays still.

Behind it all is a team of partners, members, and volunteers who give up their rest to make it happen. There's no obligation, there's a will. That's the difference you feel in the dish and in the atmosphere.

Around the embers, as always, there's never a lack of excitement — the improvisations, the jokes, the audience comments, the "experts" who show up giving their two cents without asking permission. Those who have been know what we're talking about. 😄

It's ugly, it's smoky, it's hot, it's chaotic — and that's exactly why it's so good.

Thank you to everyone who, once again, rolls up their sleeves to keep this tradition alive. They know who they are.
